‘As a father to daughters…’: Rishi Sunak on Taliban’s university ban for women

Britain Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Wednesday expressed sympathy for the ladies of Afghanistan – who beneath the Taliban’s rule are being denied schooling – saying he couldn’t think about a world like that being a “father to daughters”. “The ladies of Afghanistan have a lot to supply. Denying them entry to college is a grave step backwards,” the UK chief tweeted, including, “We’ll decide the Taliban by their actions”.

His assertion comes after reviews claimed that ladies college college students in Afghanistan had been turned away from campuses on Wednesday after the Taliban-run administration enforced a better schooling ban for women- by blocking their entry to universities. Girls had been reportedly seen weeping and consoling one another outdoors one campus in Kabul, reported information company AP.

The choice – which has drawn condemnation from overseas governments and the United Nations – was reportedly introduced Tuesday night in a letter to universities from the upper schooling ministry.

“We went to college, the Taliban had been on the gate and advised us ‘you aren’t allowed to enter the college till additional discover’ … everybody was crying,” a pupil advised Reuters. The presence of safety forces outdoors universities was additionally reported to be larger than ordinary as girls college students had been advised to go away by armed Taliban forces, even once they stated they had been going for administrative duties.

The Taliban’s newest diktat comes after dismissing girls from management posts within the civil service and prohibiting them from attending secondary faculty in most provinces.
