Police arrest Karnataka Contractors’ Association president | Bengaluru

Vayyalikaval Police have arrested D Kempanna, the President of the Karnataka state unit of the Contractors’ Affiliation, who has just lately levelled allegations in opposition to the state Horticulture and Planning Minister Munirathna Naidu charging that the minister demanded 40 per cent fee in contractual works. Kempanna together with 4 others have been arrested by Police in response to the defamation case filed by the minister.

Following the allegations, Minister Munirathna filed a 50 crore defamation case in opposition to Kempanna. A non-bailable arrest warrant was issued in opposition to him after the defamation case was filed by the Minister.

The eighth ACMM Court docket issued a non-bailable warrant in opposition to Kempanna on December 19 following which the Police arrested him. A complete of 5 members of the contractors’ affiliation have been arrested together with 4 office-bearers.

Nataraj, the Treasurer of the Contractors Affiliation, Gurusiddappa, the Joint Secretary of the Affiliation, and Krishna Reddy the Vice President of the Affiliation are the three different workplace bearers who had been arrested together with Kempanna. All of them had straight accused the state authorities minister of demanding a 40 % fee.

Kempanna had additionally written a letter to the Prime Minister saying that the state authorities ministers have demanded a 40 % fee in contractual works. In addition to, the contractors of Bengaluru metropolis and BBMP have alleged that the BBMP calls for 50 % fee from the contractors.

Munirathna stated that he had filed a legal defamation case in opposition to 18 people who find themselves with Kempanna.

“You can not evade the regulation by making false allegations with out paperwork. Do not write a letter to the Prime Minister simply to be well-known. If there’s a doc, launch it and produce the officers and politicians who acquired the fee into the open. A judicial inquiry can’t be performed as quickly as an software is filed. If there’s a correct doc, let him launch it,” stated an indignant Muniratna.

Kempanna had stated that they are going to be submitting all of the paperwork to the court docket.
