Gomati (Tripura) [India], January 4 (ANI): Unidentified individuals attacked monks outdoors the ancestral house of former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in Udaipur in Gomati district in Tripura late Tuesday evening.

The incident occurred at a time when a gaggle of monks arrived at Deb’s residence at Rajdhanagar in Jamjuri space of Udaipur. The monks got here to the Bharatiya Janata Get together (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP’s residence to carry out a Yajna within the annual Shradh ceremony of Deb’s father on Wednesday.

In accordance with reviews, the miscreants attacked the saints and vandalised their autos. The bystanders and locals got here to the rescue of the monks following which the miscreants fled away.

“I came visiting Maa Tripura Sundari temple. Right here I got here on directions of our Gurudev ji to miss the preparations of the Yagna to be carried out on Wednesday. All of a sudden a mob got here they attacked me and vandalised my car. They shouted both there will likely be CPI(M) or none,” mentioned Jitendra Kaushik, whose car was broken.

Native individuals began a protest over the incident.

In the meantime, protesters vandalised retailers believed to be of the attackers. Following this, heavy deployment of police personnel was made.

Sub Divisional Police Officer Nirupam Debbarma and Extra Superintendent of Police Debanjana Roy rushed to the spot to deal with the state of affairs. (ANI)
