COPENHAGEN, Jan 10 (Reuters) – Hackers have disrupted entry to the web sites of Denmark’s central financial institution and 7 non-public banks within the nation this week, in keeping with the central financial institution and an IT agency that serves the trade.

The web sites of the central financial institution and Bankdata, an organization that develops IT options for the monetary trade, have been hit by so-called distributed denials of service (DDoS), which direct visitors in direction of focused servers in a bid to knock them offline.

A spokesperson for the central financial institution mentioned its web site was working usually on Tuesday afternoon and the assault didn’t affect the financial institution’s different techniques or day-to-day operations.

Entry to the web sites of seven non-public banks was briefly restricted on Tuesday after the DDoS assault on Bankdata, an organization spokesperson mentioned.

The banks included two of Denmark’s largest, Jyske Financial institution (JYSK.CO) and Sydbank (SYDB.CO), he mentioned.

Sydbank confirmed on its Fb web page that entry to its web site had been restricted on Tuesday. A Jyske spokesperson confirmed some clients had skilled issues accessing its web site on Tuesday.
