Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin on Friday congratulated Normal Asim Munir on his appointment because the Pakistan Military Chief, noting that the 2 nations have a long-standing defence partnership.
In response to a Pentagon readout of the decision, Austin congratulated Gen Munir on his appointment because the Chief of Military Workers and mentioned areas of mutual curiosity in addition to current regional developments.
“At the moment I had the chance to congratulate Normal Asim Munir, Pakistan’s newly appointed Chief of Military Workers,” Austin stated.
“America and Pakistan have a long-standing defence partnership and I stay up for working with Normal Munir,” he stated in a tweet.
