Bharat Jodo Yatra a battle with ideology which killed Mahatma Gandhi: Rahul Gandhi

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi mentioned Sunday that his Bharat Jodo Yatra is a battle with the ideology which killed Mahatma Gandhi. Collaborating within the Gandhi Jayanthi celebration on the Khadi Gramodyog Centre in Badanavalu in Karnataka’s Mysuru district, Rahul mentioned that the hard-won freedoms of the individuals of the nation eroded within the final eight years underneath the BJP rule.

“Simply as Gandhiji fought the British Raj, we’re as we speak combating a battle with the very ideology that killed Gandhi. This ideology has previously eight years delivered inequality, divisiveness and the erosion of our hard-won freedoms,” the Congress chief who’s on the Karnataka leg of Bharat Jodo Yatra, the foot march from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, mentioned.

Dubbing the politics of the BJP-led Centre as one in every of ‘himsa and asatya’ (violence and falsehood), he mentioned that the yatra “will unfold the message of ahimsa and swaraj (non-violence and self-governance).”

“Within the present context, swaraj is the liberty from worry and what our farmers, youth and small and medium enterprises want. It’s the freedom of our states to train their constitutional freedoms,” Rahul mentioned.

The 21-day foot march in Karnataka will go by way of eight districts protecting 511 km. The third day started with a prayer assembly on the Badanavalu Khadi Kendra began by 4 Dalit ladies, which Mahatma Gandhi had visited twice, and Rahul Gandhi interacted with ladies weavers.

The foot march will resume at 4 pm at Kadakola industrial junction and can halt at JSS exhibition floor in Mysuru.
