After the change in rating, Alcaraz broke his silence on Djokovic dethroning him and on his twenty second Grand Slam haul.

Casper Ruud, Tsitsipas and Djokovic had been the three gamers who stood an opportunity to say the highest ATP rating after Alcaraz had withdrawn from the event earlier than the beginning of the fortnight. Djokovic crushed Tsitsipas’ hope for a maiden Slam and of changing into the primary ever participant from Greece to be the world no.1 as he defeated him in straight units. The win assured Djokovic to return to the highest spot in ATP charts on Monday, ending Alcaraz’s run to twenty weeks. The younger Spaniard will drop to the second spot.

“Congratulations @DjokerNole for the Australian Open and the world number one! Very properly deserved! Hope to see you quickly on courtroom!” Alcaraz tweeted.

Alcaraz had picked up a leg-muscle damage which pressured him to skip the Australian Open. However the 19-year-old is slated to return within the Argentina Open. This would be the first time he’ll take part within the occasion. It will likely be performed between February 11 and 19 and also will embrace gamers like Lorenzo Musetti, Austrian Dominic Thiem, Briton Cameron Norrie and native favourite Diego Schwartzman.
