Aussie family misses flight after passports go missing at Bengaluru airport | Bengaluru

An Australian household had been pressured to drop their plans of going again house after their passports and telephones had been misplaced within the pre-departure safety verify on the Bengaluru’s Kempegowda Worldwide Airport (KIA).

The household have been recognized as Dr Ramesh Nayak, his spouse and their two youngsters, The Instances of India reported. That they had flown to India to go to their household in Karnataka’s Mangaluru and Tumakuru after a four-year hole.

They had been presupposed to fly again to Australia on January 22 on a SriLankan Airways flight, which flies to Melbourne by way of Colombo. Nonetheless, the delay induced after their passports went lacking resulted in them lacking their flight. The household had to purchase new tickets for a flight on January 26, which value them a further ₹6.6 lakh.

The Nayak household had reportedly saved all of their passports, a pockets and cell phone in a tray, which went lacking throughout safety verify by the Central Industrial Safety Power (CISF) on the Bengaluru airport. CISF officers discovered the lacking passports an hour and half later and mentioned they “acquired caught” after scanning, by which era, their flight had taken off.

One other passenger had positioned an empty tray on high of the one which had the Nayak household’s belongings, which induced the chaos, officers from the CISF informed the publication. The household mentioned they intend to take CISF to court docket as they induced monetary loss and hardship to them.

Dr Nayak mentioned CISF employees had been “very callous” in attending to their state of affairs. “With none sense of duty or regret, the CISF officers casually informed us to go away the realm as we had acquired our belongings,” he informed the publication. The household flew to Australia on January 26.
