TN governor’s staff assaults cab driver; probe on: Police | Latest News India

A cab driver was allegedly assaulted by Tamil Nadu governor R N Ravi’s private workers, police stated on Tuesday, including a probe has been began within the matter.

The accused recognized as Thirugnana Sambandam, advisor of media and communication to the governor had booked a personal cab from the Chennai airport to Mugalivakkam on February 6, police stated. In his police grievance, the cab driver alleged that Sambandam attacked him twice and threatened him of dire penalties as he’s the next official.

A video of the incident shared on social media reveals the motive force and Sambandam concerned in a heated argument. Sambandam is heard asking the cab driver to cease recording the video and delete it. HT couldn’t independently confirm the veracity of the video.

In the identical video, the motive force responds: “I don’t care in case you are some large official. Is a taxi driver so low for you? You hit me badly and I’ll complain. I’ll file a case”.

Sambadam is heard responding that he tried to cease the motive force when he tried to go away with out ready and the motive force reacts that he stated that there could be ready costs. The motive force had objected when Sambandam made him cease at a number of places. As of now, police have registered a group companies register (CSR) primarily based on his grievance and never filed an FIR, in line with reviews.
