137 hostel students hospitalised in Mangaluru, food poisoning suspected | Bengaluru

Not less than 137 nursing and paramedical college students fell ailing because of suspected meals poisoning at a personal hostel in Mangaluru’s Shaktinagar on Monday.

The scholars had been rushed to numerous non-public hospitals within the metropolis at evening.

Metropolis police commissioner N Shashi Kumar stated that the police are looking for the rationale behind the incident.

“At about 9 pm, round 400-500 folks gathered in entrance of metropolis hospital within the metropolis. Most of them are college students and the remaining are their members of the family. Since morning 2 am greater than 100 lady college students have complained of meals poisoning and hospitalised. 137 college students had been admitted to completely different hospitals within the metropolis. Giving the main points of the incident, District Well being Inspector Dr Ashok knowledgeable that each one the scholars are out of hazard.

“The overall nursing and BSc nursing college students have been admitted to numerous hospitals because of meals poisoning. The scholars received panic. About 130 college students have gotten handled. There isn’t a want to fret or panic. We are going to go to the hostel and can work together with the warden and discover out the supply. All are out of hazard. No casualties have been reported to this point,” stated Dr Ashok District Well being Inspector.
