Karnataka govt to set up helpline number for Kannadigas in Turkey and Syria | Bengaluru

In a tweet, Basavaraj Bommai wrote, “Our authorities is involved with the Ministry of Exterior Affairs following the devastating earthquake in Turkey & Syria. The MOE and Authorities of Karnataka will quickly arrange particular helplines to help the Indians in addition to Kannadigas staying in these international locations.”

CM Bommai additional urged the households of people who find themselves caught in Turkey and Syria to share the main points of individuals. “I request the households & kinfolk of individuals staying within the affected international locations to share their particulars with our authorities,” added CM Bommai.

The earthquake of magnitude 7.8 on Monday killed greater than 4,000 individuals and flattened hundreds of buildings in Turkey and neighbouring Syria. It was centred in Turkey’s southeastern province of Kahramanmaras and was felt as far-off as Cairo.
