Sisodia’s arrest an ‘attack on democracy’, says CM Vijayan | Latest News India

Reacting to Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia’s arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in reference to the liquor excise coverage case, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday mentioned Sisodia’s arrest was an “assault on democracy” and central companies have been being utilized by the Union authorities to “intimidate” opposition-ruled states and their leaders.

Taking to Twitter, Vijayan mentioned that the Centre was focusing on opposition-ruled states to divert consideration from severe problems with unemployment, value rise and financial disaster.

“The arrest (of) Manish Sisodia by CBI is one other instance how the ruling BJP misuses the central companies to intimidate opposition. It’s a blatant misuse of energy and all democratic forces ought to oppose it. Such regressive steps undermine the very basis of our nation and it must be resisted,” he tweeted. He urged individuals to lift their voice towards such measures that can have an effect on federal polity and democracy.

There was no speedy response from the BJP to the CM’s assertion.

Arrested in reference to alleged malpractices in excise coverage on Sunday, Sisodia was remanded to the CBI custody by a courtroom in New Delhi on Monday. Condemning the arrest Aam Aadmi Occasion (AAP) employees took out protest rallies in a number of elements of the nation.
