ED sticks to summons, Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar to appear before agency tomorrow

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has rejected Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president DK Shivakumar’s request searching for to increase the date of his look earlier than the company within the Younger Indian and Nationwide Herald case. Shivakumar stated he would honour the summons and seem earlier than the ED alongside along with his brother DK Suresh, a Congress MP, Friday, October 7.

“Usually they used to honour such requests. I don’t know why they aren’t doing it now,” Shivakumar stated.

“Kuldeep Singh is the officer who has summoned us. He’s the officer investigating the Younger India and Nationwide Herald case,” he stated.

The case pertains to alleged monetary irregularities dedicated by Younger India Ltd whereas taking on the property of Nationwide Herald.

Earlier this week, Shivakumar stated he would write to the ED requesting it to supply him and Suresh with one other date to seem.

The summons coincided with Rahul Gandhi’s keep at Adichunchanagiri mutt – a robust mutt of the Vokkaliga neighborhood – close to Nagamangala in Mandya district. “I request them to provide us one other date to seem since it’s our mutt and it is going to be improper if I’m not current,” Shivakumar, who hails from the Vokkaliga neighborhood, had stated.

All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) common secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, reacting to ED summons, stated: “There’s insanity within the strategies of the BJP. They’re panic-stricken and scared by the overwhelming response to Bharat Jodo Yatra,” he stated, including that the writing on the wall is evident and it factors to the BJP’s defeat within the subsequent election.

“They will summon him (Shivakumar) 500 occasions extra. We’re not scared and can give a befitting reply,” he added.
