Andrew Edwards, a UK Tory chief, is being investigated over his controversial remarks after an audio clip went viral during which he purportedly mentioned “all white males ought to have a Black slave”.
Edwards, a County councillor and former Justice of the Peace in Pembrokeshire, Wales, can be accused of claiming Black persons are of “decrease class” than white folks, reported the Unbiased.
The Conservative group on Pembrokeshire County Council confirmed it was investigating the allegations towards Edwards, who has not been suspended but, in response to the report.
Within the clip that went viral, a person could possibly be heard saying, “Nothing unsuitable with the pores and skin color in any respect. (…) I feel all white males ought to have a Black man as a slave or Black lady as a slave, you understand.”
“There’s nothing unsuitable with pores and skin color, it’s simply that they’re decrease class than us white folks.”
It isn’t clear when or the place the 16-second clip was recorded.
Responding to the allegations, the councillor mentioned that “I’m conscious of such severe allegations being made towards me. That is why I’ve self-referred to the Public Providers Ombudsman for an unbiased analysis.”
“It’s now within the palms of authorized consultants and the ombudsman. It will be unfair on the method for me to remark.”
