‘I felt like an outcast’: David Warner opens up about growing up in a multicultural locality in Australia

David Warner believes rising up within the multicultural locality helped him to turn into a greater particular person and it educated him earlier than even he began to journey the world.

“My upbringing was very multicultural. I grew up with Turkish heritage, Lebanese heritage, Syrian, Indian, Bangladesh, Chinese language, you title it,” Warner mentioned on the present Breakfast with Champions hosted by Gaurav Kapoor.

“All the things was at my faculty. For me as an Australian I nearly felt like I used to be the outcast becasue it was very multicultural.

Warner recollected how he was taken again when for the primary time he visted his childhood good friend, who had a bangladesh background and noticed everybody consuming on the ground.

“Me and him as youngsters grew up, performed in the identical cricket group. He at all times aspired to play for Bangladesh.. though he grew up in Australia.

“I’d go to his place and would eat on the ground. And I’d be like ‘Man, why are we consuming on the ground? He’s like ‘That’s what we do. That’s our tradition.

“So from a younger age, at like 11 years of age I used to be already educated earlier than I travelled. So, I knew how totally different cultures have been and I liked it.”

Warner reveals he is aware of solely unhealthy phrases in Bangla and “Aami tomake bhalobashi“, which implies ‘I Love you.’
