FIR in Gujarat against Pak Navy personnel for kidnapping, bid to kill Indian fishermen at sea

The Gujarat police have registered a First Data Report (FIR) towards a gaggle of 20 to 25 Pakistani Navy personnel for allegedly kidnapping and try and kill seven Indian fishermen within the Arabian Sea off the Gujarat coast, an official stated on Sunday.

As per the FIR, the incident happened round 5 pm on October 6 when seven crew members on board an Indian boat named ‘Harsiddhi’ have been fishing within the Indian waters off the Jakhau coast.

It stated 20 to 25 uniformed jawans on a Pakistan Marine Safety Company boat named ‘PMSA BARKAT 1060’ began unprovoked firing on the Indian boat. They destroyed and sank the boat, kidnapped the fishermen and took them on their vessel.

The fishermen have been overwhelmed up with a stick which left them injured. The accused individuals additionally recorded a video of the fishermen and launched them after a risk, the FIR stated.

Porbandar Superintendent of Police Ravi Mohan Saini stated the fishermen have been rescued and delivered to Jakhau port in Kutch district of Gujarat by an Indian Coast Guard boat on Friday.

He stated the FIR was lodged at Jakhau and transferred to Navibandar, a police station in Porbandar district which has territorial jurisdiction past 12 nautical miles off the Gujarat coast.

The case was registered towards the accused beneath Indian Penal Code Sections 307 (try and homicide), 365 (kidnapping), 427 (inflicting harm), 324 (voluntarily inflicting harm) and 506 (1), based on the FIR.

Saini stated, “The Indian boat sank attributable to a collision and we wouldn’t have the GPS (international positioning system) to determine its coordinates.
