After Amul kiosk row, Karnataka govt to push for Nandini outlets at Bengaluru Metro stations | Bangalore News

With Amul’s plan to open kiosks on the 10 metro stations within the state capital triggering a row, the federal government has instructed the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) to hunt permission from Bengaluru Metro Rail Company Restricted (BMRCL) to arrange shops of Nandini, the state-run dairy model, at its stations.

BMRCL, in its e-newsletter printed on Monday, introduced that it had signed a licence settlement with Gujarat Cooperative Milk Advertising and marketing Federation Restricted, generally known as Amul, to arrange kiosks. They’re anticipated to return up at Pattandur Agrahara, Indiranagar, Benniganahalli, Baiyappanahalli, Trinity, Sir M Visvesvaraya station at Central School, Nadaprabhu Kempegowda station at Majestic, Nationwide School, Jayanagar, and Banashankari.

Following the announcement, Chief of the Opposition R Ashoka accused the state authorities of apathy in the direction of the state-run model. Though the Congress had used Nandini to focus on the BJP in election campaigning, “it’s now decided to destroy the model,” he stated on Wednesday.

The BJP chief alleged that the federal government “didn’t even present curiosity in collaborating within the tender course of”.

Reacting to the allegation, Deputy Chief Minister D Okay Shivakumar stated, “BMRCL had invited a worldwide tender and Amul was the lone applicant. We have now now instructed KMF to submit its utility to BMRCL. KMF will open Nandini shops in eight metro stations,” he stated.

Noting that Amul had already opened its kiosks at two metro stations, the Bengaluru improvement minister stated it was not applicable to shut them down. “We have now knowledgeable the BMRCL to permit KMF to open Nandi shops within the remaining eight metro stations,” he added
