AGCO chief acknowledges Sudarshan Venu’s role in ending TAFE dispute | Business News

Chennai-based Tractors and Farm Tools Ltd (TAFE) reached a complete out-of-court settlement with US-based AGCO Company in July. The settlement ended all disputes over the Massey Ferguson model, industrial preparations and shareholding points. As a part of the settlement, TAFE turned the only and unique proprietor of the Massey Ferguson model in India, Nepal and Bhutan. The corporate will now maintain all rights, title and curiosity within the model and associated logos, together with the related goodwill.

The decision was acknowledged by AGCO CEO Eric P Hansotia through the firm’s Q2 2024 earnings name. He credited the profitable conclusion of talks to shut collaboration with the son of TAFE Chairperson and MD Mallika Srinivasan. “Turning to a few AGCO particular objects, we not too long ago introduced decision with TAFE on all excellent industrial, governance and shareholding issues. Earlier in July, TAFE and AGCO had agreed that TAFE would repurchase AGCO’s 20.7% fairness stake for $260 million. The buyback will make TAFE an entirely owned subsidiary of the Amalgamations Group, a Chennai-based industrial conglomerate.

The company dispute got here to a head in September 2024 when AGCO terminated its model licensing and different agreements with TAFE. In response, TAFE filed a contempt petition, alleging AGCO’s determination breached prior court docket orders and was carried out with out due course of.
