Ahmedabad Air India crash update: Govt confirms ongoing ‘data extraction’ from black boxes

Ahmedabad Air India crash replace: The federal government confirmed Thursday that the information extraction course of from the black bins of the Air India plane that crashed in Ahmedabad on June 12 is at present underway, information company PTI reported. A multi-disciplinary group, led by the Plane Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) chief, is probing the airplane crash.

The Civil Aviation Ministry in a press release stated: “The group, constituted as per worldwide protocol, is led by DG AAIB, and consists of an aviation medication specialist, an ATC officer, and representatives from Nationwide Transportation Security Board (NTSB) which is authorities investigative company from the state of manufacture and design, (USA), as required for such investigations.”

“Following the unlucky accident involving Air India Flight AI-171, the AAIB promptly initiated an investigation and constituted a multidisciplinary group on 13 June 2025, consistent with prescribed norms,” the ministry added.

The ill-fated Air India’s Boeing 787-8 plane was en path to London Gatwick crashed right into a medical hostel complicated quickly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, killing over 270 individuals, together with 241 individuals who have been onboard the airplane.
