The Federal Aviation Administration warned Friday that almost 13,000 air site visitors controllers have been working with out pay for weeks.
“As we head into this weekend, a surge in callouts is straining staffing ranges at a number of services, resulting in widespread impacts throughout the [National Airspace System],” the FAA stated in a publish on X.
As of Friday, half of the 30 busiest airports have been experiencing staffing shortages, together with in Boston, Phoenix, San Francisco, Nashville, Houston, Dallas and the Washington, D.C., space.
