On October 21, 2021, Baldwin fired a prop gun that shot and killed the movie’s director of pictures Halyna Hutchins.
27-year-old Gutierrez-Reed is now dealing with trial in Santa Fe on February 21, 2023, on expenses of involuntary manslaughter and proof tampering. The prosecutors argue her negligence in mistakenly loading dwell ammunition, coupled together with her alleged proof tampering, warrant these expenses.
She may resist three years in jail for these expenses and a further 18 months for a separate firearm possession cost added later.
Gutierrez-Reed held a coaching session for the dozen or so actors whose roles referred to as for them to deal with weapons, however Baldwin was unable to attend.
“I used to be very impressed by the coaching session,” Halls testified to the OSHB. “She made positive that every one these actors have been holding the gun correctly, pulling it out of their holster. All of them shot blanks.”
The armorer claimed that she held a non-public coaching session for Baldwin on the church, testifying, “I walked in, and I mentioned, ‘All proper, Alec. I’m going to be your armorer. We’re going to go over how one can shoot all of your weapons, how one can load them, how one can make them protected, and we’re going to just be sure you actually know — that you just appear to be you realize what you’re doing.’”
The armorer mentioned that Baldwin spent a lot of the deliberate session on his cellphone texting, FaceTiming his spouse and youngsters, and having his assistant shoot video of him for his social media.
After the session, Gutierrez-Reed mentioned she requested the producers grant her extra coaching time, “Notably with Alec, simply because his function is so gun-heavy, and I wished to verify he was conversant in his weapon.”
Gutierrez-Reed testified, “I informed them that he wanted extra time to apply his cross draw as a result of I didn’t need him to have problems with it on filming day.”
