This time the goal of the vandalism was the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir within the city of Windsor within the province of Ontario.

A spokesperson for the BAPS group informed the Hindustan Occasions they had been “very shocked by the anti-Indian graffiti on our mandir partitions.”

In an e-mail to members of the Hindu Federation in Canada, a consultant of the BAPS group stated the “incident was reported to the native police for his or her rapid crucial motion.” Photos connected to the e-mail confirmed slogans towards India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

That is the fifth such incident the place a temple has been defaced with such graffiti since July final yr.

On February 14, the goal was the Shri Ram Mandir within the city of Mississauga within the GTA. Slogans spraypainted included these attacking India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and describing the founding father of the separatist Khalistan motion, Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, as a “martyr.”

Previous to that on January 30, the Gauri Shankar Mandir in Brampton was equally desecrated. Earlier than that, a statue of Mahatma Gandhi, situated on the Vishnu Mandir in Richmond Hill, was defaced in July final yr. The 20-foot tall bronze statue was located within the temple’s Peace Park. Weeks later, in September, an episode of such vandalisation occurred on the entrance entrance to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Toronto.

Statues of Mahatma Gandhi have been focused for vandalism with an analogous modus operandi. The newest such incident concerned the decapitation of a Gandhi sculpture situated on the campus of the Simon Fraser College in Burnaby, British Columbia. That incident occurred on March 27.

4 days earlier, on March 23, a statue of Mahatma Gandhi, situated on the Metropolis Corridor within the city of Hamilton in Ontario was defaced and anti-India and pro-Khalistan graffiti spraypainted close to its base. That incident is being investigated by Hamilton Police’s Hate Crime Unit.

None of those incidents have up to now resulted in any arrests.
