Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Saturday known as on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and invited him to hitch the inaugural ceremony of the year-long delivery centenary celebrations of music maestro and Bharat Ratna awardee Dr Bhupen Hazarika in Guwahati on September 8.
Taking to social media, Sarma wrote, “It was my privilege to satisfy Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji in New Delhi immediately. I had the honour of inviting him to Assam because the Chief Visitor for the inaugural ceremony of the year-long celebration of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s delivery centenary.”
Sarma added that he invited PM Modi to hitch the inauguration of the Assam bio-ethanol plant, which has a manufacturing capability of 49 kilotons each year (KTPA) of ethanol.
The Assam chief minister additionally requested the prime minister to put the inspiration stones of two key infrastructure tasks: the Rs. 5,700 crore Guwahati Ring Highway mission and the Darrang Medical School and Hospital in Darrang district.
Sarma shared that the prime minister has agreed to attend the occasions.
