Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated on Wednesday that Sydney will host the 2023 Quad Leaders’ summit on Could 24, the third in-person assembly of the leaders of Australia, america, India and Japan.
“I’m honoured to host the primary ever Quad Leaders’ Summit in Australia in Sydney,” Albanese stated.
“The Quad is dedicated to supporting an open, secure and affluent Indo-Pacific that’s respectful of sovereignty and ensures safety and development for all.”
Albanese stated the leaders will focus on how the Quad can work alongside companions and regional groupings, together with the Affiliation of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Pacific Islands Discussion board, to strengthen cooperation and form the area.
India, america, Japan and Australia are members of the Quad, an off-the-cuff group that Washington has been selling to work as a possible bulwark towards China’s growing political, business and army exercise within the Indo-Pacific.
