Australia’s authorities on Thursday rejected a Myanmar court docket’s sentencing of economist Sean Turnell to 3 years in jail and demanded his “rapid launch”.
Overseas Minister Penny Wong criticised the ruling towards Turnell, an Australian citizen, saying he was tried in a closed court docket with no consular entry.
Australia will “advocate strongly” for Turnell till he’s returned to his household, Wong mentioned, after the tutorial was imprisoned below the Official Secrets and techniques Act.
