Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday stated he’ll instruct the state’s Director Normal of Police to look into the case regarding the dying of a suspended police inspector, and get an inquiry executed if required, following allegations that it was linked to “money for posting”.
Primary opposition events Congress and JD(S) have sought a judicial and high-level probe into the dying, respectively, following a purported video dialog that had gone viral.
Within the video, state Municipal Administration Minister M T B Nagaraj was allegedly heard telling cops that the suspended inspector had died below strain, as he had paid big quantity for his present posting.
Chatting with reporters right here, Chief Minister Bommai stated, “Our DG (Director Normal of Police) was not on the town, he has returned final evening. In the present day, I’ll give directions to him to collect all the data, and if something is discovered, an inquiry needs to be executed. We is not going to present any hesitation in it.”
Nandeesha H L, hooked up to the Okay R Puram police station, was lately suspended over dereliction of obligation. He had died of a cardiac arrest on October 27.
Latching onto the purported claims made by the minister, the opposition events have accused the Bommai-led authorities of corruption by fixing charges for each posting and indulging in “cash-for-posting” rip-off.
