‘Because of Assam CM’s popularity’: Union minister says Rahul ‘lost his calm’ | Latest News India

Union minister Giriraj Singh on Wednesday took a dig at Congress chief Rahul Gandhi over his remarks towards Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma amid ruckus in the course of the ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra within the state. Singh mentioned Rahul Gandhi has “misplaced his calm” due to the “recognition of Assam CM”.

“Rahul Gandhi has misplaced his calm due to the recognition of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma…He’ll (Rahul Gandhi) find yourself apologising within the courts,” the Union minister mentioned.

Earlier within the day, the Congress MP resumed the flagship Yatra to hold out its marketing campaign additional into Assam after dealing with a roadblock on Tuesday. Forward of a scheduled entry into Guwahati, Congress staff led by Rahul Gandhi have been stopped by police, resulting in clashes. Following this, the Assam CM directed state police to lodge complaints towards Rahul Gandhi and different Congress leaders, together with KC Venugopal and Kanhaiya Kumar.

Earlier than restarting the Yatra for its eleventh day, Rahul Gandhi referred to as the Himanta Sarma the “most corrupt CM”. He additional dared the Sarma-led Assam authorities to file “as many instances as they will” and mentioned he wouldn’t be intimidated.

“I do not understand how Himanta Biswa Sarma acquired the concept he can intimidate me by submitting instances. File as many instances as you may. File 25 extra instances; you may’t intimidate me. BJP-RSS cannot intimidate me,” he mentioned.
