Bengaluru: BBMP continues anti-encroachment drive in Mahadevapura and KR Puram

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Tuesday carried out an anti-encroachment drive at SR Format in KR Puram and close to Sheelavanthakere lake in Mahadevapura in Bengaluru.

A BBMP official stated, “On Monday, a slab over a drain close to Sheelavanthakere lake in Whitefield, a four-metre compound wall, and 4 sheds which encroached the drain have been additionally eliminated. In Kasavanahalli, we’ve got demolished three sheds.”

In KR Puram, BBMP officers demolished a 10-metre compound wall of an residence and the compound partitions of two homes.

Until September, the civic physique has cleared 94 encroachments from the stormwater drains.

The BBMP has been finishing up the encroachment eviction operations since September 5 after components of Bengaluru have been inundated owing to encroachments on stormwater drains.
