Bengaluru college student kidnaps former employer’s son for Rs 15 lakh ransom: police

A Bengaluru man kidnapped his former employer’s son for a Rs 15-lakh ransom and made away together with his automobile with the assistance of a buddy, police stated as they arrested the duo 18 days after the crime.

Round 4am on September 2, M Sunil Raj (23) and Y V Nagesh (22) allegedly barged into the 14-year-old boy’s bed room, gagged him and took his father’s SUV and fled the spot. When the boy’s mom got here to test on him, she discovered the room empty and dialled his telephone quantity. The accused answered the decision and demanded Rs 15 lakh to launch the boy and threatened to kill him if they might not pay the ransom.

The Sampigehalli police, who acquired details about the crime later, stated the boy’s dad and mom paid the ransom on the identical day afternoon. Police stated they needed to persuade the dad and mom to lodge a criticism. They’ve recovered Rs 9.69 lakh, two bikes and a automobile from the abductors, whom they tracked down later.

In line with police, Sunil Raj, who’s doing BCom in a night faculty, had earlier labored as a gardener on the boy’s home at Manyata Residency behind Manyata Tech Park close to Hebbal within the Karnataka capital.

Sunil had observed that the boy slept in his ground-floor bed room whereas his dad and mom and elder brother slept on the primary ground of the home. Their pet canine additionally slept on the primary ground. He additionally knew the door to the boy’s room couldn’t be locked from inside.
Police stated the abductors, each residents of Yelahanka, did a recce of the home on August 30.

The boy’s father is a managing director of a personal firm and his mom a software program engineer.
