Bengaluru: Heavy overnight rain on Friday leads traffic snarl in the city | Bengaluru

Bengaluru noticed one other spell of heavy rain on Friday night time resulting in site visitors snarls in most locations of the town on Saturday morning. Based on the Indian Meteorological Département (IMD), Bengaluru City district recorded 45.5mm of rain until Saturday morning and light-weight to reasonable rains are anticipated until October 19 within the metropolis.

Karnataka State Catastrophe Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has put out statistics of rain recorded within the metropolis on Friday wherein Begur space of Bengaluru noticed the best rainfall of 97 mm within the metropolis. Singasandra, Vidyapeeta and Hampi Nagara areas too noticed rainfall over 70 mm until Saturday morning. The IMD has already issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru and predicted that the town would possibly obtain rainfall between 64.55 mm to 115.5 mm until October 19.

Many residents of the town had been caught in site visitors on Friday night time on account of heavy rain whereas photoes of submerged roads surfaced on social media. A consumer wrote, “Caught between Mekhri Circle to Hebbal for extra then one hour… horrible site visitors jam, water logging and rains. (Sic)”

A climate blogger referred to as ‘Bengaluru climate man’ wrote, “Extra rains are on the way in which…. this is not gonna cease any quickly. Keep indoors. Drive gradual and protected if you’re out. Yesterday it was North & CBD & at this time it is South, SE & West of #Bengaluru bearing the brunt of heavy spells (Sic)”

Nevertheless, the groups of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and Bengaluru Site visitors Police are coordinating with one another to keep away from waterlogging in areas with heavy site visitors.
