BJP MLA Munirathna and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar locked horns within the state Meeting Tuesday over the alleged dropping of Bettahalasuru station which is a part of Section 2B of the Bengaluru Metro venture.

Section 2B, often known as the Blue line, is a key hyperlink to Bengaluru’s Kempegowda Worldwide Airport. Shivakumar, in his response to Munirathna throughout Query Hour within the Home, said that the Bettahalasuru station was dropped after actual property main Embassy Group did not fund its building as per an earlier settlement.

The station was initially included within the 2018 DPR which was forwarded to the Centre. The state additionally acquired land for the venture after the Embassy Group dedicated to funding the station’s building at a value of Rs 120 crore. Nonetheless, in line with Shivakumar, the group has paid solely Rs 1 crore to this point.

Land acquisition and DPR approval are full. The federal government should act to guard public curiosity,” he mentioned, including that native MLA Krishna Byre Gowda had additionally written to Shivakumar underlining the station’s significance.

‘MLA Munirathna has 70-80 acres of land within the space’

Shivakumar, nonetheless, hit again stating that Munirathna owned 70-80 acres of land across the station, which is why he insisted on creating it. “As per norms, it’s allowed to call the station after an organization in the event that they sponsor the development with CSR funds. Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi praised the mannequin and Opposition chief (R) Ashoka was additionally there. To which Munirathna quipped, “If DCM D Ok Shivakumar makes a name to Embassy builders, they are going to make the fee in 24 hours. Builders in Bengaluru solely take heed to him.”

Replying to him, Shivakumar said, “Self-interest is pure. The Embassy (Group) has about 250 acres they usually had been prepared to pay Rs 120 crore of the overall value of Rs 140 crore to model the Metro station there. They’ve given solely Rs 1 crore until now. We’ll construct the station and identify it after Munirathna if he pays for it.”
