Bengaluru NCB arrests Kerala man deported from UAE in drug trafficking case | Bangalore News

The Narcotics Management Bureau (NCB), Bangalore Zonal Unit, stated on Tuesday that it has efficiently secured the deportation of a key accused concerned in a number of drug trafficking instances from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The NCB has recorded the arrest of the accused particular person, a resident of Kerala who was earlier detained by the legislation enforcement authorities within the UAE primarily based on the Purple Nook Discover (RCN) issued by Interpol.

The case pertains to the seizure of 6.624 grams of LSD, categorised as a business amount, in a parcel from a person on his arrival from Mexico at Kempegowda Worldwide Airport in Bengaluru on July 18, 2023. The contraband was being trafficked by concealing it inside books and magazines. The police had arrested the service and two people who had arrived to gather the narcotic substance on the airport, whereas the important thing accused was at giant, stated an officer.

The NCB is but to disclose the id of the Kerala resident as investigations are underway. An officer stated that the person has additionally been absconding in a Narcotic Medicine and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) case registered at Coimbatore on January 24.

The accused have been reportedly smuggling the narcotic substances from Thailand, officers stated. They allegedly sponsored leisure journeys of the arrested individuals to Thailand on the promise that whereas returning to India from Thailand they must carry a bag containing hashish.
