The Bengaluru Metropolis police have registered a case after a Class 10 boy was allegedly stripped, filmed, and blackmailed by a social media ‘pal’ and his associates on April 5.
The 16-year-old was reportedly coerced into making false claims on video about capturing inappropriate photos of ladies and extorting cash from them, the teenager boy’s mom said in a grievance filed on April 25.
Based on his mom, a feminine pal of her son had allegedly plotted the assault in opposition to him.
The complainant mentioned that her son returned house in a visibly disturbed frame of mind on April 5 after assembly a pal, Afridi (title modified), whom he befriended on social media, and locked himself up in his room.
Based on the police, the boy opened as much as his mom after repeated persuasions {that a} group led by Afridi allegedly threatened to take away his garments. “When he resisted, they forcibly undressed him and coerced him into making a false video assertion, claiming he had recorded inappropriate photos of ladies and extorted Rs 50,000 from one sufferer,” the boy’s mom mentioned within the First Info Report (FIR).
The boy had beforehand met Afridi just a few instances, and about six months in the past, he borrowed the sufferer’s earbuds and cell phone, however he solely returned the cellphone, the grievance said.
Based on the FIR, although the Class 10 boy had distanced himself from Afridi, the ‘pal’ met the sufferer on April 5, whereas he was using a two-wheeler close to the Nationwide Institute of Psychological Well being and Neuro Sciences (Nimhans), Bengaluru.

“Afridi entered the boy’s car and led him to the parking zone of a residential constructing the place 5 of Afridi’s pals waited. The lady informed the police she had delayed reporting the incident to the police, fearing for her son’s security.
A senior police officer mentioned that the ages of the alleged perpetrators stay unsure, and efforts are underway to find the suspects.
The police have registered a case underneath the Safety of Kids from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, Info Expertise Act, and sections 133 (assault or felony pressure with intent to dishonour an individual), 115 (voluntarily inflicting damage), 118 (voluntarily inflicting damage or grievous damage by harmful weapons or means), 126 (wrongful restraint), and 308 (extortion) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
