Invoice Murray mentioned he needs he didn’t cross on a chance to work with Clint Eastwood on one of many Hollywood icon’s films.
“It’s one of many few regrets I’ve is that I didn’t do it,” Murray mentioned lately on “The Howard Stern Present.” He gave the impression to be referring to “Heartbreak Ridge,” the 1986 conflict drama directed and produced by Eastwood.
The actor, who had starred in director Ivan Reitman’s 1981 navy motion comedy “Stripes,” mentioned he was compelled to name Eastwood “out of the blue” after seeing movies like his 1974 crime comedy “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.”
Murray recalled Eastwood avenging the killing of his “sidekick” Lightfoot (performed by Jeff Bridges), including that Lightfoot had each a “nice half” and a “nice loss of life scene” within the film.
After ringing up Eastwood, Murray mentioned the Hollywood icon requested if he’d do one other “service comedy” like “Stripes.”
“And he had this nice concept for an unlimited Navy factor and when he mentioned, ‘Would you ever wish to do one other service comedy?’ [I was] like, ‘Geez, would I develop into like Abbott and Costello? I needed to do, like, navy films?’ And I mentioned, ‘Effectively, God, I suppose perhaps I shouldn’t,’” he defined.
Murray, who has performed in movie star golf tournaments with Eastwood on a number of events and sang the Trying Glass’ hit “Brandy (You’re a Nice Woman)” with him in 2012, mentioned working with the Hollywood icon on the film would’ve been “nice” as he had entry to World Warfare II boats and will’ve made a flotilla.
He later informed the Hollywood icon that he was “actually sorry” for not participating in his movie.
“He’s actually properly over it,” Murray added of Eastwood.
