BJP candidate AL Hek casts vote, mingles with voters – ThePrint – ANIFeed

East Khasi Hills (Meghalaya) [India], February 27 (ANI): The BJP candidate from Pynthorumkhrah, AL Hek, solid his vote at a polling station within the East Khasi Hills on Monday.

Flashing his inked finger and posing for the lenses after casting his vote, the BJP candidate additionally met fellow voters on the polling station.

Polling is being held at 3,419 polling stations throughout 59 Meeting constituencies within the state. The voting will proceed until 4 pm on Monday.

Of the 60 Meeting constituencies in Meghalaya, 36 constituencies fall in Khasi, Jaintia Hills area whereas 24 are in Garo Hills area.

Considerably, nevertheless, polling for the Sohiong Meeting constituency was postponed following the demise of the state’s former Dwelling Minister and United Democratic Occasion (UDP) candidate from the seat HDR Lyngdoh.

There are over 21 lakh electorates (21,75,236) of which 10.99 lakh are ladies and 10.68 lakh are male voters.

In Meghalaya, the girl voters are in greater numbers than their male counterparts. There are about 81,000 first-time voters within the state.

As many as 369 candidates are within the fray of which 36 are ladies.

Of the entire 3,419 polling stations, 120 are all women-managed polling stations, 60 are mannequin polling stations and one other 60 are PWD polling stations.

The Election Fee has deployed 119 corporations of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in Meghalaya.

Chief Electoral Officer, Meghalaya FR Kharkongor mentioned 640 polling stations have been recognized as ‘susceptible’, 323 ‘crucial’ and 84 as each.

The ballot panel on Saturday ordered the sealing of Meghalaya’s Worldwide border with Bangladesh until March 2.

The counting of votes will likely be completed on March 2. (ANI)
