The Bangalore Metro Rail Company Ltd (BMRCL) has introduced an ex-gratia of ₹20 lakh for the kin of a lady and her toddler son killed on Tuesday when an under-construction metro pillar collapsed close to Nagawara space on the outer ring street in Bengaluru.
The lady’s husband and daughter have been hospitalised with accidents. The 4 of them have been touring on a motorcycle when the incident happened.

Talking to the reporters, Anjum Parvez, Managing Director, Bangalore Metro Rail Company Restricted (BMRCL) termed the incident “unlucky” and introduced the ex-gratia.
“A pillar fell on the street and a lady and her baby have been badly injured and died. It is rather unlucky. Will present ₹20 lakh ex-gratia to the kin of the victims,” the MD stated.
Stating that the BMRCL adopted highest high quality requirements, he stated the mishap might be probed intimately to forestall such incidents don’t happen in future.

“We observe highest high quality requirements attainable relating to building. Detailed probe might be executed and can see if it was a technical error or artifical. Steps might be taken to forestall such incidents from taking place once more,” Parvez confused.
Earlier, Bheemashankar S Guled, DCP East Bengaluru stated, “This morning round 10:45 am, when the couple together with their twin youngsters have been travelling in direction of Hebbal when the metro pillar collapsed on the bike. The mom, Tejaswini and son Vihaan have been critically injured and shifted to Altis Hospital the place each of them succumbed to their accidents. “
Forensic consultants are on the incident website and are investigating the DCP stated.
