Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Tuesday responded to the protesting wrestlers and stated that the costs towards him are already being probed by the Delhi Police.
Talking to reporters on Tuesday, the six-time BJP MP stated, “The matter is beneath investigation by the Delhi Police. If there’s any reality to the costs (levelled towards him by the wrestlers), an arrest shall be made,” the WFI chief added.
“As we speak, they went to Haridwar to immerse their medals within the Ganga. However later, they handed them to Tikait. It’s their stand, what can we do?” he added.

India’s high wrestlers Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat have deferred their plans to immerse their Olympic and world championship medals within the Ganga. The choice got here after a two-hour protest at Haridwar the place the tearful wrestlers had been persuaded by farm leaders to not take the drastic step.
The wrestlers proceeded to Haridwar after their protest website at Jantar Mantar was cleared out by the police. They’ve been on a dharna at Jantar Mantar since April 23 demanding the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh who’s accused of sexually harassing girls wrestlers. Singh has denied the costs.
Whereas Vinesh Phogat is a world championship medallist, Bajrang Punia received bronze on the deferred Tokyo Olympics and Sakshi Malik is a Rio 2016 bronze medallist.
