A jawan of the Border Safety Power (BSF) was injured on Friday in an improvised explosive system (IED) blast, suspected to have been triggered by Naxalites, in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, police stated.
The incident occurred between 9 am and 10 am on Koyalibeda-Panidobir Highway underneath Koyalibeda police station limits when a group of BSF personnel was evacuating an ailing colleague for remedy, a senior official right here stated.
“The jawans, who had been on bikes, had been on their method again to Koyalibeda camp after selecting up the ailing jawan from Panidobir camp. When it reached close to Markanar village, the explosion occurred leaving a jawan injured,” he stated.
The injured jawan was shifted to a neighborhood hospital, he stated, including that his situation was said to be out of hazard.
Subsequently, safety forces recovered two dwell IEDs from the realm and a search operation continues to be underway, he stated.
