Centre asks cable operators to get themselves registered in 10 days

The Data & Broadcasting Ministry has requested multi-system operators (MSOs), or cable TV operators, to put in monitoring gadgets on head-ends and get themselves registered by November 25, failing which they’re prone to face motion or have their registration cancelled.

In an order issued on Tuesday, the ministry stated: “It has come to the discover of the ministry that some MSOs are but to get registered and furnish the data…subsequently, all MSOs are hereby directed to furnish the requisite data on or earlier than 25.11.2022…”

It acknowledged, “In case of failure, it could be construed that MSO has violated the phrases and situations of Registration granted to them. Additional, it could result in initiation of proceedings… for suspension/ revocation of MSO registration.”
