A minute of silence was held in Hiroshima on Wednesday throughout a ceremony to mark 80 years since america dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese metropolis.
Japanese prime minister Shigeru Ishiba attended the ceremony and urged all nations to work in direction of nuclear disarmament.
“We should make each effort to understand a world with out nuclear conflict and in the end a world with out nuclear weapons”, Ishiba instructed the viewers at Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park.
Bombs dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed greater than 200,000 individuals – some from the rapid blast and others from radiation illness and burns.
