Complaints on electoral rolls: in a first, EC trains booth-level agents of political parties ahead of Bihar polls | India News

After a number of complaints from political events on electoral rolls over the previous few months, the Election Fee (EC) on Wednesday kicked off a two-day coaching session in a first-of-its-kind programme for booth-level brokers appointed by political events for the Bihar Meeting elections.

Round 280 booth-level brokers (BLA) of 10 main events attended day one of many session on the EC’s India Worldwide Institute for Democracy and Election Administration (IIIDEM), an announcement from the ballot panel mentioned. The Bihar Meeting elections are anticipated to be held later this yr.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Dr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr Vivek Joshi addressed the coaching session. “The BLAs got an summary of their appointment, roles, and tasks as per the authorized framework. In keeping with EC sources, the booth-level brokers had been from main nationwide and state events in Bihar together with the BJP, Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Lok Janshakti Get together (Ram Vilas), Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Get together (RLJP), Janata Dal (United), Bahujan Samaj Get together (BSP), Communist Get together of India (Marxist), CPI (Marxist-Leninist), and the Aam Aadmi Get together (AAP).

Over the previous few months, the Congress has raised issues concerning the updation of election rolls in Maharashtra, whereas the AAP has flagged comparable issues in Delhi and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Bengal.
