Cong demands judicial probe into ‘cash gifts’ to journalists on Diwali in Karnataka

The Congress on Saturday alleged that Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai tried to bribe journalists by sending Rs 1 lakh money items to them on Diwali and demanded the registration of a graft case in addition to his resignation.

The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee demanded a judicial inquiry into what it known as “Chief Minister’s Workplace (CMO) ‘candy field bribe’ to journalists”.

In keeping with sources within the CMO, Bommai has stated he was unaware that “money” was given to journalists.

Will Mr. Bommai answer- 1. Isn’t it “bribe” being provided by CM?
2. What’s the supply of ?1,00,000? Has it come from Public Exchequer or from CM himself?
