Dalit student alleges harassment over caste in dental college: Police | Bengaluru

A Bengaluru-based ultimate 12 months post-graduation Dalit scholar of a dental school filed a grievance with the police on Thursday alleging she was ragged and assaulted by 5 Kerala-based college students in Dakshina Kannada district, officers mentioned on Friday.

In her grievance, she alleged that on December 21, when she, her brother and a good friend had been returning to the hostel at evening, the accused abused her in title of caste and assaulted them.

“I complained to the faculty principal and head of the division on December 22 in regards to the incident. Vishak mentioned in his grievance that Pallavi had assaulted Daya, the faculty mate of Vishak, a couple of days in the past.

Sullia police have registered a case beneath Sections 324, 504 R/W 34 of the IPC in opposition to Pallavi, Hanif, her elder brother and an unidentified particular person on this connection.
