Karnataka Police have booked 10 individuals for allegedly tying up and beating a 14-year-old Dalit boy in Chikkaballapur district after suspecting him of getting dedicated theft, officers mentioned.
In response to the police, the boy was allegedly assaulted by a gaggle of higher caste individuals round 9.30 pm on Thursday in Kempadenahalli village, 80 km from Bengaluru.
In her criticism to the police, the sufferer’s mom mentioned her son was dragged outdoors over a suspicion that he had stolen some gold jewelry, tied to a pole, and thrashed mercilessly. The lady and her son, each of whom sustained accidents within the assault, have been shifted to a hospital, officers added.
Talking to The Indian Categorical, the boy’s father mentioned, “I work as a mason and he’s my second son. We didn’t even know why they had been beating him black and blue. They’ve been admitted to the hospital and we have no idea the place to go now.”
Chintamani rural police have recorded the statements of the boy and his mom. A case has been registered underneath IPC sections 143 (illegal meeting), 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily inflicting harm), 354 (assault to lady with intent to outrage modesty), 355 (assault to dishonour particular person), 341 (wrongful restraint), 448 (punishment for false mark), 504 (intentional insult to impress breach of peace), 506 (felony intimidation) and 149 (prosecution of widespread object) and underneath sections 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s) and three(1)(z) of the SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Modification Act of 2015.
