Death of BJP MLA’s nephew: Police register murder case based on father’s complaint

Karnataka police have registered a homicide case in reference to the dying of Chandrashekar, the nephew of Chief Minister’s political secretary and Honnali MLA M.P. Renukacharya.

The case was registered by Honnali police after Chandrashekar’s father M.P. Ramesh filed a grievance alleging that his son was murdered. The police registered the case beneath sections 302 (homicide), 201 (inflicting disappearance of proof of offence, or giving false data to display offender) and 427 (mischief inflicting harm to the quantity of fifty rupees).

Chandrashekar, 24, son of M.P. Renukacharya’s brother Ramesh, went lacking on October 30. On October 3, his physique was present in decomposed state inside a automotive in a canal close to Honnali in Davangere district. Within the grievance, Ramesh alleged that there have been harm marks on the physique which regarded like his fingers and legs have been tied.

“It appeared that somebody had hit his head and ears with a weapon. Somebody has killed my son and pushed the automotive together with his physique into the canal to make it appear to be an accident,” Ramesh alleged within the grievance.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai Sunday stated that police have been investigating the case from all angles.

In the meantime, Renukacharya alongside together with his supporters went to the Honnali police station demanding that police present them the automotive by which the physique of his nephew was discovered. Expressing his displeasure over the “negligence of the police division”, the MLA stated, “If my son (Renukacharya calls his nephew as his son) can’t be protected, what’s the plight of the widespread man.”

When he insisted on checking the automotive, the police satisfied him stating that the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) officers have been checking it and that no person could be allowed to go close to the car.

Renukacharya continued to say that the physique was discovered by his followers and never the police. “It was a pre-planned homicide. Earlier than killing my son, he was tortured. The negligence of the police is obvious,” he alleged.

A police official stated they have been ready for the postmortem report.
