Delhi to observe 5 ‘dry days’ in October-November in 2022. Check full list

The nationwide capital will observe a ‘dry day’ right this moment on the event of Dussehra and 4 extra days within the coming weeks because of different festivals. ‘Dry day’ really means the sale of alcohol is banned through the day within the state.

The Delhi authorities’s excise division in an order on Monday stated all of the liquor vends will likely be closed throughout the nationwide capital on Dussehra (October 5), Eid Milad-un Nabi and Valmiki Jayanti (October 9), Diwali (October 24), Guru Nanak’s birthday (November 8) and Guru Tegh Bahadur’s Martyrdom Day (November 24).

The Delhi authorities stated the licensees is not going to be compensated on account of any modifications within the record.

As per the earlier excise coverage in 2021-22, the variety of dry days in Delhi had been lower to simply three i.e Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (August 15) and Gandhi Jayanti (October 2). The inns, golf equipment and eating places aren’t allowed to serve liquor on these three nationwide holidays.

An excise division official advised PTI that it’s the authorities’s discretion to repair the dry days numbers. He added that inns, golf equipment and eating places serving liquor will stay open.

The Arvind Kejriwal authorities in Delhi withdrew its excise coverage 2021-22 after lieutenant governor VK Saxena really useful a CBI probe alleging irregularities within the implementation. The federal government reverted again to the outdated excise coverage that was in operation earlier than November 17, 2021, beneath which there have been 21 dry days.
