‘Didn’t say anything anti-India’, says Rahul Gandhi amid Parliament row | Latest News India

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday arrived in Parliament amid the Bharatiya Janata Get together (BJP) demanding his apology over remarks made in the UK.

“I didn’t converse something anti-India (in London seminar). If they are going to permit I’ll converse contained in the parliament”, the Wayanad MP stated.

Parliament has been witnessing a large stand-off between the federal government and opposition over Gandhi. The Congress and different opposition events are demanding a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe into the Adani-Hindenburg subject. The BJP has demanded that Rahul Gandhi apologise to Parliament for insulting India on the overseas soil.

“What Rahul Gandhi says is identical language utilized by those that are anti-India each within the nation and outdoors,” Union regulation minister Kiren Rijiju stated earlier at present, reiterating the BJP’s demand for an apology by the Congress chief.

Throughout an interplay within the UK, Gandhi stated democracy in India is beneath assault and the opposition leaders are silenced. His remarks triggered a large outcry in India with the BJP leaders accused him of insulting Parliament.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a veiled jibe at Rahul Gandhi over his remarks. “However it’s unlucky that from the soil of London, questions are being raised on Indian democracy. There isn’t a pressure that may weaken Indian democracy. However regardless of that, there are fixed makes an attempt by some folks to assault Indian democracy”, the PM had stated whereas addressing a public assembly in poll-bound Karnataka.

Regardless of the strain mounted by the BJP, the Congress is in no temper to relent and has made it clear that Rahul Gandhi is not going to apologise. “It is their conspiracy to not let the Parliament run and ignore our demand for a JPC probe within the Adani subject. They do not wish to talk about problems with unemployment & inflation. Earlier on quite a few events, Modi Ji spoke towards India overseas. There isn’t a query of apologising”, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge stated.
