A driver concerned in a deadly wrong-way crash on Interstate 70 in Wheat Ridge over the Thanksgiving weekend has been charged with vehicular murder.
Jonathan Alberto Lozoya Caldera, 29, of Arvada, can also be charged with three counts of vehicular assault, possession of a managed substance with intent to distribute, driving on the incorrect aspect of a divided freeway, and driving beneath restraint, in accordance with a Wheat Ridge Police Division information launch.
A 53-year-old driver was killed and three passengers, all from the identical household, had been critically injured within the Nov. 26 crash, police stated. Some family members had been visiting Colorado from Iowa.
Caldera, driving a black pickup truck, was heading west within the eastbound lanes when the crash occurred close to Kipling Road. He suffered critical accidents within the crash and stays hospitalized, police stated.
