Musk’s relegation to the second spot is being linked to the drop in Tesla’s shares on Tuesday. The EV maker’s shares dropped by 6.5 per cent to $156.91 in New York, placing its market cap to under $500 billion, Bloomberg reported.

Musk has invested closely in social media platform Twitter, for which he paid $44 billion. Underneath him, the microblogging large has undergone a whole overhaul, introducing new options together with a paid Twitter Blue subscription service.

Based on a report by Insider Intelligence accessed by Reuters, Twitter will witness an exodus of customers because of adjustments made by Musk and flat income development for the subsequent two years. The report says that the social media platform will lose extra customers within the US than any of the international locations, including that month-to-month customers will fall to 50.5 million in 2024, the bottom degree since 2014.
