Turkey centre-back Merih Demiral has coped flak from German Inside Minister Nancy Faesar over his aim celebration in his workforce’s win over Austria within the Euro 2024 Spherical of 16 fixture on Tuesday.

Talking on his celebration, participant of the match Demiral stated, “I had a celebration in thoughts about being Turkish. I did that (gesture). I’m very proud to be a Turk, I felt that to my bones after scoring the aim, that’s the reason I wished to do one thing like that.
“I’m very joyful to have completed that, all of the followers are happy with us. I noticed individuals within the viewers doing that. I wished to do it after seeing them,” he added.
The Gray Wolves had been based in Sixties and are infamously attributed for the political violence within the 1980 coup that claimed over 5,000 Turkish lives.
